Privacy Policy
Effective: 13 May 2026. iPundit Community is operated by iPundit™ Solutions (Maharashtra, India).
This page explains what data iPundit Community collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. Written in plain English, no dark patterns — if you find anything here unclear or unfair, email support@iPunditSolutions.com and we'll fix it.
What we collect
When you sign up for early access (the /beta form) or, later, register a forum account, we collect:
- Email address — to send your verification link and any future account-related messages.
- Full name — shown alongside your questions and answers, so the community knows who's contributing.
- Optional fields — company, role, primary engineering tools. Helps us seed relevant content and route your first onboarding.
- Content you post — questions, answers, comments, votes, profile bio. This is public by design.
- Technical logs — server-side: IP address, browser user-agent, timestamps of page requests. Kept for 30 days for security + abuse investigation, then auto-rotated.
We do not ask for your address, phone number, government IDs, or any identity document. We do not run any background trackers, pixel-tags, or third-party advertising scripts.
Why we collect it
- To run the forum (authenticate you, attribute your posts, send verification + notification emails).
- To prevent spam and abuse (rate-limit by IP, detect duplicate accounts).
- To improve the platform (anonymous usage trends — which categories are active, which questions go unanswered).
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers. Ever.
Cookies
We use the minimum:
- Session cookie (mandatory) — keeps you signed in. Cleared on logout.
- CSRF cookie (mandatory) — protects forms against cross-site attacks.
- Analytics — we may add a privacy-respecting analytics tool (Plausible or self-hosted Matomo, no fingerprinting, no third-party sharing). When we do, this page will be updated and we'll add a banner.
No tracking cookies. No third-party cookies. No Google Analytics.
Who sees your data
- The community — your name and any content you post are public. Your email is never shown to other users.
- iPundit Solutions staff — for support, moderation, and platform operations only. Strictly need-to-know basis.
- GoDaddy (our hosting provider) — has access to the underlying database files (as any hosting provider does). They are bound by their own data-handling agreements.
- No one else.
Your rights
Per India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP) and the EU GDPR where applicable, you can:
- Access — request a copy of your data on file.
- Correct — edit your profile yourself, or ask us to fix anything you can't.
- Delete — close your account. Your questions and answers can be either deleted or anonymized (you choose) — community knowledge stays useful, but your name and email come off.
- Export — request a JSON export of your contributions.
- Withdraw consent — for any future opt-in (e.g., notification emails).
Email support@iPunditSolutions.com for any of these. We respond within 7 days.
Retention
- Account data — kept while your account is active.
- Posts and content — kept indefinitely (the community knowledge is the whole point). On account deletion, you choose anonymize or remove.
- Server logs — 30 days, then rotated.
- Beta-signup form submissions — kept until your forum account is created (then promoted to account record), or 12 months if not promoted, then deleted.
Children
The forum is intended for working engineers and students aged 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has signed up, email us and we'll close the account.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change what we collect or how we use it, we'll post a notice on the forum and send a one-time email to all registered users at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The current version is always at ipundit.in/privacy/.
